Kisumu County Government has issued scholarships worth Sh45 million, benefiting 9,772 disadvantaged students in the district. The scholarships will benefit the 2020 Kenya Certificate for Primary Education (KCPE) graduates to join public and additional auxiliary schools in August. Mrs. Dorothy Nyong’o, the First Lady of Kisumu County, has launched three day care centers in Kisumu for low income mothers as a strategy to help young mothers pursue their education during motherhood. While launching the project, Mrs. Nyongo said that the effort was the result of collaboration between the Department of Education in Kisumu and Kidogo Innovations Limited. President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed 34 judges and rejected 6 out of the 41 judges presented by the Judicial Service Commission in 2019. Remarks by President Uhuru Kenyatta during the June 1st Madaraka Day celebrations  in Kisumu has plunged the president into trouble with the court system in Kenya. An aircraft that dropped former Prime Minister, Honourable Raila Odinga, has crashed in Siaya sub-county at Akudho Primary School, Usenge village, Onyonyo sub-location in South Gem location. The crash occurred on Sunday, May 20th at 4.30 PM. The accident was reported by Captain Julius Mwambanga of Panel Air.
