Ksh 45 Million in Bursaries Awarded to Disadvantaged Students in Kisumu County

Kisumu County Government has issued scholarships worth Sh45 million, benefiting 9,772 disadvantaged students in the district. The scholarships will benefit the 2020 Kenya Certificate for Primary Education (KCPE) graduates to join public and additional auxiliary schools in August. While awarding the scholarships, Kisumu Deputy Governor, Dr Mathew Owili, said that the Maritime Province had awarded 160,722,826 shillings as scholarships and grants to students in schools, colleges, universities and driving school universities in the last two years. First Lady Dorothy Nyong’o Launches Three Modern Daycare Facilities in Kisumu County

Mrs. Dorothy Nyong’o, the First Lady of Kisumu County, has launched three day care centers in Kisumu for low income mothers as a strategy to help young mothers pursue their education during motherhood. While launching the project, Mrs. Nyongo said that the effort was the result of collaboration between the Department of Education in Kisumu and Kidogo Innovations Limited. Chopper Crashes in Siaya After Dropping Raila Odinga During Tour with President Uhuru

An aircraft that dropped former Prime Minister, Honourable Raila Odinga, has crashed in Siaya sub-county at Akudho Primary School, Usenge village, Onyonyo sub-location in South Gem location. The crash occurred on Sunday, May 20th at 4.30 PM. The accident was reported by Captain Julius Mwambanga of Panel Air.
